ESE, meaning Feet in my mother language, (Ana) in Atakpame, West- Africa
Feet as an element of the human body have a basic role in our life.
We walk and vacate into our various activities. Although feet have this fundamental role to play in issues of life, I look at feet as a symbolic element, a metaphor that could be regarded as identification of a human being.
Strong or feeble feet move, migrate across culture, and walk for change or transformation in this jungle world, toward a specific goal.
In this project, I seek to communicate a universal message, which has no national boundaries. I believe this project; feet installation in terracotta, is conveying this philosophical ideology of people and place in the global world.
Thinking about movement of people, I am also thinking about steps we make in life.
Are we always conscious or unconscious about them? Do we walk on people's liberty and freedom? Do we always make steps of honour and glory? These facets could be the hiding part of this project.
